The Starter Motor Could Be the Reason the Vehicle Won't Start

You cannot assume that it is always the battery when your vehicle has problems starting. Sometimes it can be the starter motor, which works with the vehicle's ignition. If it is the starter, there are some warning signs that it may be in trouble.

If there is a grinding noise when attempting to start the car, then this can mean that the starter gear is worn. A whining noise can indicate that the starter gear is not connecting properly with the flywheel. The starter can sometimes get soaked with oil from an oil leak, which can cause it to fail eventually. If the solenoid is bad, then it cannot transmit electricity from the battery to the starter.

If your vehicle is having problems starting, you need to initially troubleshoot whether it is the battery or the starter causing the issue. You can bring your vehicle into Bonham Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and we will test the vehicle to see what can be causing the problem.
